Nancy-Ann DeParle is an American entrepreneur and healthcare policy expert. She was born on December 17, 1956, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. DeParle received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Tennessee, a Master of Science in Public Policy from the University of Oxford, and a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School.
DeParle has held several high-level positions in the US government, including Administrator of the Health Care Financing Administration under President Bill Clinton, managing Medicare and Medicaid programs. Under President Barack Obama, she served as the Director of the White House Office of Health Reform, where she played a key role in the development and implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
Apart from her government service, DeParle has also worked in the private sector. She has served as a partner and managing director at the private equity firm Consonance Capital Partners and as a senior advisor at JPMorgan Chase & Co.
DeParle has received several awards and honors for her contributions to healthcare policy. In 2011, she was named to the Time 100 list of the most influential people in the world. In 2012, she was awarded the White House Fellow’s award for her distinguished public service.
